Looking for an engaging, differentiated, and challenging project-based learning task to enrich your students? This is a perfect math challenge for students at any time of the year - they'll love running their own taco truck!

 

Students will love getting to work within a budget to run their taco truck - they'll choose the ingredients, extra food to serve, and their truck. Students will practice addition and subtraction while learning to work within a budget. They'll finish the project by designing 4 specialty tacos, and taking their classmates' orders! This includes both Printable & Digital versions for Google Slides.

Engaging Letter: Get students excited about this project by putting the letter in an envelope and ripping it open along with students!

Brainstorming Sheets: 2 brainstorming sheets for students to think about what ingredients they'll need, what to name their truck and more details

Taco Supplies Menus: There are 3 sheets included that display the options students have to pick from for ingredients, extra food, and more. These display the prices for each thing - there are differentiated options included.

Planning Sheets: Differentiated planning sheets are included. Students will calculate the total they've spent and adjust their purchases to fit within a budget.

Reflection Questions: Reflection pages are included. Students will answer questions about what it was like working with a budget and what they might do differently next time.

Taco Menu: Students will create 4 specialty tacos, and write a description of each taco

Taco Truck Orders: Students will display their menu and take classmates' orders, and calculate their totals

Design a Truck: 3 different print-and-color truck toppers for students work
